Privacy Policy

Mental Stint is built so that using it — reading, studying, tracking your progress — never requires an account and never depends on anything leaving your device. This page covers the parts that do involve giving us something: signing in, and paying for Pro.

What stays on your device only

Everything you read, every study session, your schedule, your streak and your settings live on your device first, whether or not you ever sign in. If you never sign in, they never leave it. Deleting the app deletes them.

If you sign in

Signing in (with an emailed code, Google, or Apple) is how your subjects, progress and settings back up and follow you to another device. We store your email address, the fact that you’re a real account rather than an anonymous one, and the study data above — decks and cards, session history, your schedule, folders and paths. That’s it: no browsing history, no device fingerprinting, no advertising identifiers.

Signing in with Apple shares your email address with us (or an Apple private relay address, if you choose to hide yours). Signing in with Google shares your email address, name and profile picture — details on that below. We never see or store your Google or Apple password, and we don’t post to those accounts or read anything else from them.

Google user data

If you choose Sign in with Google, Mental Stint asks Google only for the basic sign-in permissions (openid, email and profile). That gives us your Google account’s email address, your name, your profile picture and an ID that confirms it’s you. We don’t request access to Gmail, Drive, Contacts, Calendar or any other Google service.

How we use it: your email address identifies your account, so your study data can back up and follow you to another device. Your name and picture are stored with your sign-in record and are never shown to other people. We don’t use Google user data for advertising, we don’t sell it, and we don’t use it to train AI models.

Who we share it with: nobody, except Supabase, which stores the account for us.

How long we keep it: for as long as your account exists. Me → Delete Account deletes it from our servers immediately. You can also remove Mental Stint’s access at any time from your Google Account’s third-party access settings.

Mental Stint’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Who else is involved

A short list, each doing one job and nothing else with your data:

Supabase hosts the account and study data described above, if you sign in.

Anthropic (Claude) generates AI content you ask for — a deck from a topic or your notes, a mapped learning path, a marked free-text answer. What you send it is used to answer that one request; it is not used to train Anthropic’s models.

Apple and Google handle sign-in (as above) and, if you subscribe to Pro, the payment itself — we never see or store your card details. Apple and Google tell us only that a subscription exists and whether it’s active, through their own purchase systems and RevenueCat, the service that connects the two.

Deleting your data

Me → Delete Account removes your account and everything tied to it from our servers, immediately, and wipes what’s on the device you’re using. If you have decks or progress on another signed-in device, deleting from one device does not reach into the other — sign into that device too and delete there, or it stays local to it.

Children

Mental Stint is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this page

If what the app collects changes, this page changes with it — the date at the top says when it last did.
